Blackbraid – The Dying Breath of a Sacred Stag

Like I said, I dicovered so many good black metal bands in the last few weeks. Blackbraid is another one of these.
I speed-ran through their entire discography and every single song of theirs is rock-solid.

I like their cover of Bathory's A Fine Day to Die. On that note, The Dying Breath of a Sacred Stag reminds me a bit of A Fine Day to Die, in the beginning.
On another note, my favourite bird (the american woodcock) makes a guest appearance on the song Warm Wind Whispering Softly Through Hemlock at Dusk.

I discovered this band yesterday when it was recommended to me on Bandcamp on Gallowbraids site. You can imagine how surprised I was when I spotted the Erdtree on the cover of their latest album.

The whole album is really amazing. I like how I can tell that this person (Jere Kervinen) is really fascinated by Elden Ring lore and didn't just decide to make an Elden Ring themed record because Elden Ring is popular.

How can there be an argument for a merciful god when even to this day Gallowbraid has only ever released a single EP?

The songs on the Ashen Eidolon EP were written in 2006 and 2007, with it releasing in 2010.

Also, I just found out, Jake Rogers, who plays every instrument on the EP, is also a member of the band Visigoth. I might have to check them out.

I'm finding a lot of new (new for me) and very good music currently, so much so that I can hardly enjoy a newly discovered artist before I already hear of the next. Like was the case with Lamp of Murmuur, whose newest album The Dreaming Prince in Ecstasy I first heard already a little while back before getting distracted by the next new amazing band. But I think I'm ready to give it the attention it deserves now. I have to!
