Misery Speaks – Lay This Burden Down
I found a CD of Carnival of Justice Catalogue of Carnage* one day while shopping in a second-hand music store. I never heard of them before, but looking at the cover I felt I would like it. It was cheap and, wondering if it would actually sound good, I couldn't wait to listen to it at home.
And it did sound good! I couldn't believe I actually found a new bandthat I like, with only 9 total listens on last.fm in the last 7 days, just because "the album cover looked like something I would enjoy".
Catalogue of Carnage, the album of this day's TotD, is their best work in my opinion, but their first, self-titled, album sounds really good as well. I'm not too familiar with their third and last album yet.
It's kind of sad that they disbanded after their third in 2009. Apparently they, or at least a few of them, founded a new band called ‘Rocketchief’. It's a stoner rock band, which I usually don't hate, but Rocketchief just doesn't do it for me. (at all)
