17.12.2025 – Hypocrisy
Track of the Day
Hypocrisy – Self-Inflicted Overload
Honorable mention: Agalloch – In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion
I was tempted to continue winter music, but then Self-Inflicted Overload came on and I had to choose it for today.
I hope I can see Hypocrisy live next year, they're a bit too far away to justify going there alone (or are they?), but if it all works out I'll go there with a friend and we might get highspeed-rail tickets for the trip back.
(Thinking about it, if I get a cheap highspeed-rail ticket back I can just as well go alone in case it doesn't work out with him)
I just now realized that Hypocrisy is the first melodic death metal band as Track of the Day, which is not okay!
I don't know if it's true now, but melodeath has been the genre I listened to by far the most in the past (and maybe still today).
A melodeath album is even in the top spot of an album tierlist I made a while ago, but I won't say which one it is yet. Maybe I'll publish it once I posted more tracks of the day, but for now it would just be too much of a spoiler for coming days.
What I can say is that Hypocrisy is in 15th place with their "Abducted" album, and their self-titled work that this day's Track of the Day comes from is not in the list.
(I don't wholly agree with the list anymore but my taste in music hasn't changed that much, but there's definitely some albums missing and some others ranked a bit to high)
Honorable mention
It's been way to long since I've listened to that much Agalloch, which is why they're back today as honorable mention.
I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I CAN EMBED A SMALL SNIPPET OF THE TRACK USING DEEZER that's so cool, will definitely use it more the coming days
