Track of the Day

Dissection – Where Dead Angels Lie

Happy late birthday to "The Somberlain" and "Storm of Light's Bane"! The Somberlain came out on the third of december 1993 and marked the first Dissection studio album, while Storm of Light's Bane came out in November 1995, on the 17th.
Happy very late birthday I guess. I'm not good with birthdays, btw. I just needed an excuse to talk about Dissection, anyway.

Dissection is one of those few bands that have never released a single mediocre piece of music. While they have only released three studio albums, that is still quite a feat.
Especially since they changed their sound so much between the second and third album, the long gap between those records and the entire cast, except for the vocalist, changing.

Winter Music

The first two Dissection albums are also a pretty good example of "winter music". From now until the end of december (or until I don't feel like it anymore), I want to highlight albums that are especially nice to listen to in the winter time.
